cold & doctor?

my 11 month old twins have a cold, mainly a running nose with sneezing and some coughing. Anyone think I should go to the doc or just ride it out? I hate to waste their time and mine over a cold but I know they could have something else going on I can't see so i don't know if I should chance it. They have had it since sat night. thanks appreciate your thoughts

Re: cold & doctor?

  • I was a triage and clinical nurse at a peds office before my little one came along, and I would tell parents as long as they were not running a fever, you typically treat the symptoms. If fever starts to call back, or there is any difficulty breathing (not just stuffiness- it would be retractions in the ribs) then it is time for the hospital.

  • My LO tends to get ear infections so we head in if the cold has been lasting a while. Otherwise we raise his crib a bit, humidifier, and lots of liquids. Hope they feel better!
