So very effing tired VENT

Ughhhhhh, I'm so tired! WHEN will my baby ever sleep more than three hours at a time?!? It's like it's never going to happen. Every night I think "tonight is the night!!" and it never is!! He is almost 8 weeks and easily over 13lbs, which apparenlty are magic numbers for every baby except for mine.

I'm tired. I know he's still a newborn and this too shall pass and blah blah blah, I just needed to vent. My husband is snoring away peacefully next to me and I just finished feeding Oliver while my eyelids burned from exhaustion. Time to start the 3 hour countdown again!!

I am cranky! I'll feel better in a few hours...Vent over.

Idk about you, but the sound of my husband snoring is INFURIATING. I am bfing so DH can't take over a feeding and therefor has no reason to wake up. But man oh man the sound of him sawing logs for 8 plus hours straight makes me want to pull my hair out.

And then he complains about being tired..... Sometimes it takes every ounce of self restraint not to bite his head off.

I usually make mine get up to do the pre feeding diaper change and to get me whatever I may need while feeding her, like a glass of water. In fact, whenever he isn't at work, he does the diapers. All of them. My left wrist below/to the side of my thumb is horribly destroyed by "mommy thumb" and it clicks and sticks and really limits me when it comes to doing anything for the baby. But when he has to sleep for work he goes right back to bed once I start feeding her so it's completely on me to get her to go back to sleep, if she even will.

Griffin had 3 hour stretches all night. Ever since 5 weeks it has been 3 to 3.5 stretches.

Do you swaddle swear it work. Dd slept for 8 and a half hrs straight and has since about last two weeks normally right home from hospital she slept five straight hrs only of we swaddle and I'm bf only.

I remember feeling like that for months and months with DD. She nursed every 3 hours around the clock for several months. I thought it would never end! But just know that good sleep will come eventually. DD started sleeping at least 10 hours straight before her first birthday.

I know it's thrown around like a football around these parts, but I promise "this too shall pass." But for now, vent away my friend!

Yep! He's swaddled, which gives him an extra 2 hours and 50 minutes of sleep. He only sleeps for minutes unswaddled.

Thanks, Ike. He's sleeping in my arms right now and it does make the exhaustion a little easier to deal with! :] I'm just so ready for a good nights sleep!! It's been so long!!! Ha.

Vent away. My older son was like that as an infant and it is so hard to function on such interrupted sleep. If it makes you feel any better, I barely remember how tired I was and it was only like two years ago. It gets better, I promise...but man, it is so tough when you are in the thick of it!

That's how my daughter was aa baby o think the longest I got was 5 hrs and that was around her first bday. She didn't sttn till 18 month. And she was ff! Just have patience. Amir decided he didn't want to go bed till 1 and wake up every 3 hrs. I feel your pain. Vent away.

Me too.
Lo wakes every 3 hours, not to eat, but just for reassurance that I'm still here. Fell asleep at 10, woke up at 1. I picked him up and he fell asleep within 5 seconds! 2 hours later he woke up to eat.

It's been like this for the past 3 weeks. Every so often I get a 5 hour stretch.

My older LO finally went 5hrs between feeds at night at around 3 months but then would wake up every hr after that til 7am. I did sleep training at 5.5 months old and thats when he slept from 9am to 7am.

This LO goes 3 to 4 hrs between feeds at night so I'm hoping in the next few weeks he'll slowly move to 5hrs. Then around 5 months I'll sleep train. I just gotta make it til then.

DD is 6 weeks and 9ish pounds.  She also only sleeps in 3 hour stretches AND she seems to be hitting a "wonder week" or growth spurt and is also only micro-napping throughout the day.  I can't even nap because 20 minutes is not enough time for me to nap.  When DH gets home, he's worthless.  Yesterday, he told me he'd take DD so I could nap.  I'd slept 4 hours each night over the weekend because DD was extra grunty in her sleep and I kept getting up to check to see if it was time to eat.  He told me he would when he finished posting something on Ebay.  Ok, fine.  It took 2 hours.  By then, it was dinner time.  His idea of taking her is to take her out of my arms and set her down to cry.  AND he keeps saying he'll take a night shift on the weekend then doesn't wake up.  If I kill him, will DD and DSS still get his life insurance?  <-- This is a joke, so please, no one think I'm actually capable of murder.

Cooper is over 12 lbs and 10 weeks and he still only sleeps a maximum of 4 hours at a time. He will wake up for about 30 minutes then back down for another 2.
