DS is 9 weeks old and usually goes to between 9:30 and 11:00. He usually sleeps a 4 to 6 hour stretch and then a 3 to 4 hour stretch. I know sleep promotes sleep and thought about trying to put him to bed one feeding sooner because he gets fussy. How old is your LO and what is their bedtime? Do you find they sleep better and longer by going to bed earlier? That was the case with my DD. I'm just afraid if I put him to bed at 7 or when I'm still up, his longest stretch will cut into the time I'm still awake. I guess it'll be trial and error though...
Re: What is your LO's bedtime?
My baby is 11 weeks on Wednesday and I started a routine about 2 1/2 weeks ago... Bathe between 7-8, feed in his room (in the dark with a little night light on) and then rock till he's drowsy and put him to bed! He pretty much falls asleep right around 7 PM! He usually sleeps until 3 am (2 times he slept till 4:30, which was amazing)! But of course my husband and I don't go to sleep right after I put him down but we go to bed pretty early in case he decides to wake up a couple hours later to eat! I wish I could make his bedtime later but I dont think that's going to happen so I'll stick with this
After he has his feeding between 2-4, he doesn't usually sleep much longer... He's an early bird!!! Sometimes I get lucky and he'll sleep till 7, but that's very rare!
Tonight he went to sleep at 7 PM so I think I'm going to bed soon because I have a feeling he will be up in a few hours
Good luck to you
We usually start bedtime routine around 6pm and she's usually down by 7:30pm. She sleeps til around 4am (which I LOVE!) then she'll go back down til around 7:30am.
But lately her naps have only been like 30min ones a few times during the day. Guess I'll take good nights over long naps though
One day, we just didn't get DD2 up at 1230 am to feed her. Instead, her last feeding was at 10 pm and she slept till 8 am. From that night on, her bedtime is about 11 pm (after her 10:30 pm feeding).
If you put your LO down at 9 or so pm, you could try a dreamfeed. Then they get food but it doesn't interrupt their sleep.
