From Schedule to On Demand Nights

Ok, so I would like to stop doing scheduled night feedings and let my LO sleep - he is still almost 2 weeks from his due date .... so he isn't even 0 adjusted.

I've heard that by the time they cry - they are very hungry - so how do I do on Demand feeding at nights? Do I wait til he crys? He sleeps in his nursery so he isn't near by - how has others deal with this?

  • I found that I was so hypersensitive in the beginning that I would sleep with the monitor super close to me and wake up when she started stirring.  Maybe not 100% of the time, but most of the times.  Your instincts might surprise you.  And if he cries for a minute or so, it's not the end of the world.  You WON'T sleep through 30+ min of him crying.

  • I agree with the PP. You will probably be so on alert that you will register every little noise, so you will probably hear him when he is starting to stir and whine over the monitor.

    Good luck with the switch!
