DD is a climber and has been since she learned to crawl, she gets up on the coffee table, the couch, the window sill, tries to use everything as a stool and I do mean everything. She also figured out that she can pull the drawers out to make stairs (drawers all have locks now) I had to take her scooter/walker out of the play room because all she does is climb on it and I turned around one day and she was standing on top of it in the middle of the room looking very proud. Most recently she completely dissembled her music table, turned the base upside down and pushes it around the room to climb on. I let her keep that one b/c its wide, low and stable, much better than say a pile of books or a toy telephone. I'm glad she's so smart and strong but this is exhausting!
Re: Anyone else have a climber?
DS is a big time climber. He's learned how to scale the baby gates, the coffee table, chairs, activity table...everything except the drawer (locks were installed before he could try it out). We go to the park frequently and he totally takes off and climbs up the stairs and slides. My BFF has an indoor toy climber thing and he thinks he's hot stuff because he can climb up it and be taller than all the other kids. He's only fallen a few times though...luckily it's only about 2 feet up and he usually just laughs and climbs right back up it.
I've learned that having him wear shoes slows him down some! He hates them but sometimes this momma needs a mental breather!
