Besides DS being an extremely picky eater again, he refuses (for the most part) to sit in his high chair anymore. He is definitely getting bigger, and we are thinking he is just over it.
Do you have a table and chairs set for your LO? If so, where did you get it from?
I am thinking this could be his little art area too. I was thinking about getting a nicer one for Christmas, but will probably buy one before then. Thanks!
Re: Table and Chair Set
FWIW, she started refusing to sit in her highchair much earlier than I anticipated, so we switched her to a booster seat on a regular kitchen chair. That didn't work for very long til she started refusing that too. She loves her little table for eating, but the freedom it gives her to get up at any point and walk around is incredibly annoying.
Ever since DS moved up from Infants to Tots at daycare, they moved from highchairs to table/chairs, so we're facing the same thing. Our highchair converts to a booster, so we go between that and the actually booster seat attached to a dining room chair - depending on if we are eating with him at the same time or not.
But, I found a good size table and chairs in awesome condition on Craigs List (only paid $15!!) which is in the Rec room. He does sit in there for his snack and it dubs as an art table too.... we love it!
Dd would much rather sit on her knees than anything so that's what she does. I thought about a small table and still may but she loves sitting at the big table. I have a cushiony booster and it often is tossed in the floor and then used as a step.
I never had a regular highchair, I always had the booster that strapped to a regular chair. It had belts and a tray.
Would he just sit in one of the chairs at the kitchen table?? We really hyped up the big kid chairs at the table and she will sit with us. Now she does get up here and there, sometimes, but overall it works. She sat in a booster seat for some time after the high chair. She has now retired the booster seat for C.
We got a wooden table from Pottery Barn for Christmas for A and we got four chairs from Ikea (white and blue). When we have friends over we bring the table and chairs up for the kids. But normally I don't make a habit of it.
We have the kaboost (bought on amazon but I think bed bath and beyond sells it), which goes under the chair and lifts it up so he is sitting in the regular chair but it raises it up so he can actually sit properly. Works well for our family so we can all eat together.
We moved Aiden to a booster right around 18 months and Claire will most likely get moved to one once she can eat without the tray.
They do have a table and chair set, but it's in our basement. We got it at Ikea!

We have a wooden table and chair set we bought off of CL. It's in our playroom now and sometimes the kids will eat lunch in there.
I just bought our 2nd Ikea Urban "junior" chair. The kids can get up and down from them themselves and sit up to the table w/o being on their knees, and they are plastic so they are easy to wipe down.
We got our set at Ikea. But it's just for coloring.
E refused a booster for a long time, so she just stood on a kitchen chair and that was fine. She likes doing buckles now, so she sits in her booster.
