Safe Sausage?

I'm trying to find an Italian or smoked sausage that's dairy/soy/gluten free.  I'm trying to make that Lazy Sunday Casserole and I'm not having any luck finding one that clearly doesn't contain these things.  Aidell's doesn't have one that would "go" with the recipe.  Help!

Re: Safe Sausage?

  • Check out applegate farms. We've only ever gotten the hotdogs so I can't attest to anything else but they are okay for my allergic to almost everything family. Try the brands website, I think they have a way to see where their products are sold

  • I am not sure if it is gluten free, but I tried some that was called Al Fresco and I really liked it. Applegate Farms would probably be good, too, but I don't like their cold cuts at all.

  • I found some al fresco! Thanks for the tip.

  • Another thing...  We order our pork from a local farm.  Not that it's FA related, but we get a pasture raised, grass-fed, organic pig.  We buy half the pig (that's about 100lbs of pork).  Then, we have it butchered by a local butcher and prepared to our specifications.

I don't know if that's an option in MI, but it provides for sausage and bacon that are free from all the top allergens.
