Daylight Savings

Hello. I've been lurking for awhile but wanted to jump in with a question...any tricks to handling time changes for Daylight Savings. Right now my LO sleeps from 7:30pm-7:30am and we love his scheule. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Daylight Savings

  • I wish i knew. LO woke up at 6a every day, then when DLS started she was waking up at 7a and I couldn't get her to budge. Her bed time was 7p and it moved too to 8p then when she cut herself down to one nap she's back to 7p-7a. Our evening routine never really changes, home at 515, play dinner and bottle at 645. At this age their internal clocks are very prominent. Only advice or suggestion I have is to do changes in 15 min block of times

  • We just try to keep them with the clock.  If we don't make a big deal out of it it's pretty ok.  Except the one in the summer.  That one sucks IMO because it's so light outside so late.

  • I am not looking forward to it! I am just going to go by the clock as usual and hopefully nothing gets messed up.

  • We went on vacation a few weeks ago and crossed 2 time zones.  DD went to bed super early for the first 2 nights and then got on the local time pretty quickly.  I suspect the same will happen with DST, especially since she'll be going to daycare and having mom and dad come home at the regular time.  The first couple nights must be rough, but like pp said, I'll try to keep her on the new time as much as possible.

  • Sorry, I don't have any advice here! We still don't have a set schedule at 11 months. We just kind of go with the flow, and I'm sure that's what will happen come DLS too.
