Pregnant after 35

Spent afternoon in Labor and Delivery

Thankfully home now with baby still baking inside! I didn't feel well at school today. One of my colleagues said my cheeks were really red and flushed. I had a headache and the swelling in my feet never subsided last night like it typically does. I tried to just push it off that I was tired--- didn't sleep well last night. My colleague doesn't let me push it off and goes to get school nurse. My BP was 140/90.

Called my OB....told me to come in to get checked. Hooked up to monitors, urine and blood work. BP monitored for 2 hours. All checked out okay....no pre-eclampsia. But my platelets were low. Will recheck on Tuesday at my regular appt.

Sent home to rest for weekend. Long day, but glad to be home and still cooking for now!

  • Glad that everything is checked and ok!  I also have swollen feet and ankle.  My nurse told me to put my feet up day and night twice a day if possible and drinks more water which I always do.  I don't have pre-e and my BP is low. I tried a couple of days to put my feet up day and night and it works quite well.

  • Phew! What a scare! Thank goodness it all worked out! Good thing you got checked out, though. And now you know that you are definitely sensitive to a higher blood pressure, so you'll know quickly if it happens ever happens again...

Glad you're back home and resting...
