Can I please whine for a minute...long rant!

So, this morning I didn't get to see Ian before I left for work.  I had to leave a little bit early and he was still asleep...and I was in a hurry so I didn't get to wake him up.  So, that started my day crappy.

Proceed to the next event...I got my performance evaluation today.  Got a 2 out of 5.  I've never in my life ever been written up or had a bad review until this month!  It's been true he!!.  I've thought several times that they're trying to fire me.  Well, this reiterates that!  Based on new "policies", pay raises are now going to be based on reviews, whereas they used to be just across the board crappy.  Well this review is now going to dictate that I will not be receiving a raise.  The bad review was for crap that I was handed and told "figure it out".  There are no written policies for the program...I was told do your best and figure out what needs to be done, but now I'm being punished for something no one has ever bothered to "show me how to do" for 4 YEARS!

Next...I've had my car for about 2 1/2 years...nicest car I've ever owned, though I bought it used, it was new and nice to me.  3 months after I bought it, I had to replace the windshield.  A year, almost to the date of buying it, I got side swiped on the side of the road...IN FRONT OF THE SHERRIF'S OFFICE!  No one saw a thing...I was out of pocket my deductible to have it repaired.  A year, almost to the day, I got hit in the parking lot at Walmart.  Hit me so hard that it moved me out of the parking space.  Of course, no one saw a thing, again I was out of pocket my deductible.  This was all 2 days before my scheduled csection!  That was fun dealing with insurance, the body shop, and rental car all with a 2 week old baby!  So, to today...was supposed to be going to a pumpkin carving party at my sister's, she had Ian.  I'm leaving my house to go there...the car in front of me (my step dad's soon to be brother-in-law) slows way down, so I backed way off.  Then he stopped all together, so I obviously stopped.  The he starts backing up, and kind of goes to the side, like he was going to go around me.  NOPE, backs right up onto my car.  My reaction time was barely enough to blow the horn before he hit me, which he never heard anyway...didn't notice anything until he heard the boom and crunch.  Yep, my car is now f*ed up and not driveable.  Well, I can drive it to a body shop but no more than that.  So, now I have to deal with another insurance claim, luckily this time it's not going to be me who's out of pocket any money.  So, in the middle of this, after waiting on the police for an hour, I text my sister to say I'm obviously going to be a bit...  She proceeds to tell me that she thinks she's caught some kind of stomach virus because she's throwing up, violently!  So, I have to get my mom to go get Ian.  So, there wouldn't have been pumpkin carving anyway.

Oh, and my phone completely crapped out on me last week.  Of course, I did not have insurance on it...never have had insurance on a phone.  And, of course, I'm not eligible for an upgrade for another 4 months...yes, I'm just a few months outside the 1 year warranty.  I'm using a crappy, way old school, phone my mom still happened to have.  Which, for all intent and purposes, it works.  But, I'm just so used to my Blackberry and miss it terribly.

So, I'll stop whining at this point and count my blessings...for now I do still have a job and no matter how bad it is I do still have it at least, Ian is feeling better and thank goodness was not in the car with me when the accident happened, thankful my mom could go get Ian from my sister's for me, and I do have a phone that I can use in the mean time.  Uhhh, sorry for the book...and if you made it through, thanks for letting me rant!

All of that sucks! When it rains it pours. Hopefully things turn around this weekend. I'm glad Ian is starting to feel better.
I hate car trouble. It just sucks. Hope you are okay after the accident today.

Oh goodness, you have every right to whine!  This string of bad luck has got to end, pronto!!  I've heard that bad things happen in 3s, so you're due for some good luck any day now.  Here, let me help you ...

What a day! At least it is Friday and you have all weekend to chill and not do anything.

My work did that to us too! They've been majorly over budget the past few years and since they're basing raises on our performance evals almost everyone got much crappier reviews than they should have! Damn The Man!

That sounds terrible!  My husbands work does similar things to screw them out of raises, it should be illegal.  And car trouble is the worst because it just messes with your entire schedule/ life.

Thanks ladies!

I work in "higher education"...more so in "funding" higher education.  The program that I got the "bad review" part is a program that we've had for going on our 5th year.  Every time an issue has come up, I've worked to resolve the issue and procedures.  However, I don't "know" there's an issue until they say something.  Well all of a sudden, it has all hit the fan.  My question is where the heck have they been for the last four years?  Why is it all of a sudden SO MUCH of an issue.  But they're "punishing" me for something that there are no written procedures on, and something I was told to literallly "figure it out".  I really don't know why they're doing it, but it's been one thing after another after another after another.  I can't do other job functions because they've been on my a$$ about this so bad!

I'm ok...no injuries after the wreck.  Just scared the poo out of me.  Really glad Ian wasn't with me.  The car can be fixed, it's just a pain having to deal with the ins company, rental car, and body shop.

All will be ok.  I just needed to vent, lol.
