Baby Names

more girl names...

Ok after my poll yesterday, not being a huge hit...which I knew it wouldn't be but I like to see what people are thinking. Not really that it will sway our decision once it comes time to naming our daughter but it is interesting to get feedback.

So what do you all think of these names..

Ireland
January
Haven
Aspen
Scarlet nn letty
Liberty
Marina

Keep in mind my husbands name is Dallas. So I sometimes feel like we can not use places for a name...kwim?
Thanks !

Re: more girl names...

  • I mean obviously you probably know that your names are unconventional and not for everyone.  I do personally like January but wouldn't be brave enough to use it.
  • I like Scarlet most.

    January and Marina are alright.

ETA - I just looked at your ticker and I'd definitely rule out January because of your due date.

  • I grew up with a girl named Haven.  I think it's beautiful.  Definitely my favorite of the ones you have listed.
  • I like Scarlett and Marina. January and Haven are fine too- quirky but not too weird. Although I can't help but notice you have Haven on this list, and Honor on the other. Are you a Jessica Alba fan? Those are her daughters.

I give Ireland big eye rolls as a name. Blatant place names like that just seem really aspirational to me.

girls names are wayyyy harder than boys. wow!

we had 5 names on our boy list .. and went to the hospital with that. girls names seem endless to me!

  • So, your names aren't really my style - but I do like Haven and Scarlett. Liberty gets the biggest cringe from me.

  • Ireland - I like it but, as far as place names go, I prefer London (and I am being completely honest, not joking around)

    January - Like it

Haven- Like it; LOVE Honor/Honour though (long before Jessica had her daughters)

Aspen - I like it. I know one who is in her late teens and I like how it's something I've never heard anywhere else.

    Scarlet - Not a fan

Liberty - LOVE it!!! I think Libby would be a cute nn for it.

Marina - Makes me think of marinara sauce

Happily married to my Snorkelbutt - 07/31/10

  • Marina is on our short list so obviously I like that one.  I also like the names Ireland and Aspen even though I wouldn't personally use them, just nms.
