*Wino O Mite*

Hey, I know we were talking about possible BYOB places for the GTG here are two more options.

Caro Mio - Itailain BYOB Lincoln Squarish on Wilson near Ravenswood, easy parking, delicious food.

Joy's - Thai BYOB, East Lakeview, Broadway couple blocks north of Belmot, also amazing but parking can be a bit of b*tch.

Also this is NOT BYOB but yummy

Cafe 28 - Cuban food, awesome Mojitos, serves brunch-dinner, decent parking, right next to the Irving Park Brown Line stop (Irving Park and Ravenswood).

I have been to all 3 of those places and they are all excellent choices!

I know I've asked you this before, but do you live in Lincoln Square?  I can't remember.

I used to I just moved last month to the Land of the Lost (aka the suburbs) not in love so far. Still trying to figure out how to make the city work.

We went out for Italian last night at a little local place in Mt. Prospect (where we now live) and it was sooo sad, the food was weak at best (like on par with Olive Garden) and it was wierd because for a town full of kids we were the only ones with one. In the city there were always kids at the restaurants. Here everyone was giving us the side eye for having a kid in "nice Italian restaurant" despite the fact that DD is super polite and never cried or anything. I seriously wanted to be like this is not good food let me recommed some places in the city to you that will blow you away.

  • Oh yeah, now I remember.

It was funny that you say that about the kids.  We went to Silver Cloud the other day, which is almost more of a bar than a restaurant and there were so many families there.

I don't want to leave the city.

  • I haven't been to Joy's but thumbs up to the other two, especially Cafe 28. nom nom nom.
