My sweet DD2 is 5 weeks old. She has had (and so have I!) a rough few weeks as she has been diagnosed with reflux and colic. She has just started Axid for the reflux, I really hope it helps. She cries in pain most of the day and night, the only things that seem to keep her happy are being held, her paci or riding in the jogger.
My question is, has your baby smiled for the first time by or on 5 weeks? I thought I remembered my DD1 smiling for the first time at 4 weeks, but in my sleep-deprived mind I can't remember. Just wondering if she should have smiled by now or not, I wonder if she is so uncomfortable and pained with the reflux and colic that it may be why she hasn't if she should have by now. I would love to see that gorgeous smile, it would help me feel better that she knows I am doing everything in my power to make her more comfortable! Thanks!
Re: Smile?
My LO didn't smile until he was maybe 8 weeks. At his 6 week doctor appointment, the doc said it should happen soon but I remember it hadn't happened yet. Every baby is different but I think 5 weeks is too early to expect the social smiling.
