Having a rough day here.....J is a very active but typically happy little guy. The past two weeks however have royally sucked. He is so attention hungry that I cannot even get ready in the morning without a major meltdown. When I say get ready I mean brush teeth, get dressed, hair in pony and pack diaper bag.....maybe 10 mins that my attention is not solely his. That 10 minute routine took me an hour today because he would not let me put him down. The rest of the day he has my attention 95% of the time unless I am cooking, etc.
Advice needed here. Am I too soft? Should I just be letting him cry while I do whatever it is that needs to be done? I feel so badly letting him cry but this cannot continue.
Re: CP: Needs attention NOW.
Could you set your alarm to 20 minutes before he wakes up so you can get ready in peace?
What about wearing him on a carrier on your back?
It might be separation anxiety, and if you let him cry it may backfire.
