flat spot/hydrocele

We just left DS's 4 month check up and everything is amazing. he already hit his 4 month milestones without adjusted age! they were shocked! he also jumped in the percentiles from 20-30% to 65-75%! for height, weight, and head! I am so proud of him! There were two small issues though. First they think he may have a hydrocele in his testicle so we need an ultrasound but I don't think this is a big issue.  Second he is getting a flat spot so they referred us for "theraplay" to get some tips.  Problem is that they cannot get us in until almost a month from now. 

 Any tips? he ALWAYS turns to the right side no matter how we turn him.  the spot is on the right back of his head.   Do those flat spot pillows help? are they safe?

My son has the flat spot and we just got a helmet for him, which he has to wear for about 3 months. He also has mild tort and we do neck stretching exercise with him (my friend does PT).
