random cramping w/Paragard

Does anybody else have random cramping with their Paragard? I know it causes heavier bleeding and more cramping during periods, but I'm having a lot of inexplicable midcycle cramping too. It feels a little different than normal period cramping (a little lower), but it doesn't feel like intestinal cramps either, so I'm guessing it's the Paragard.

I've had mine since late December of last year, so I feel like I should be well past the adjustment phase.

Re: random cramping w/Paragard

  • I have Mirena, but I think it's pretty normal. I got mine in Feb. I haven't had a period, not sure if that is due to the Progesterone in Mirena, or because I am breastfeeding, but I do get random cramps. Sometimes it feels like I am going to get my period.

  • Could it be ovulation pain? The only time I really noticed any pain during ovulation was with my paragard. It was really pretty painful.

I'm sure at least one of the random cramping days is o pain, but it happens other times too. It's an odd heavy feeling, lower and more concentrated than my normal period cramps. Very strange.
