I need my UO time

1st- Ive been seeing alot of baggies of marshmallows on pinterest with things like, "Snowman Poop" or whatever and I dont know, I wouldnt give anybody a bag of marshmallows and call it a gift- unless I sent it with my kid for his class or something. Bake some darn cookies for your neighboors!

2nd- While intentional, cute, short hair cuts on girls are adorable, I am way judgey when it comes to obvious "I didnt want to deal with your hair so bye-bye" cuts. I think that is so sad. My hair was a mess when I was a kid, but I wanted it long, so long my mom kept it.

And I about fell over when I saw a tiny newborn with her toes painted hot pink. Eee!

  • My sister used to paint my nieces nails when she was a newborn, but it's because she had twin girls and needed a sure-fire way to tell them apart. ;)

Ugh, I so agree! It just seems so mean and cruel, unless your kid wanted a haircut.

Can I put in a UO? Mine is that I realllllly don't like the way little girls look with earrings before their hair has some length to it.

I wonder if this was my newborn... lol  My sister had "Piggie Polish" and just HAD to paint her toe nails.  It's this non-toxic nail polish made for babies and small kids.  It was pretty darn cute...

My UO for the day:  I hate hairbows on baby girls.  I think they look rediculous.  Skirts and dresses on my DD make me crazy, I hate the way they ride up.

What's wrong with a baby nails being painted? I've never heard of people not agreeing with it & just wanted to know why..

Personally I know how small DS's toe nails are & the last thing I'd want to do is fight him from wiggling to paint his toes... (of course I'd never paint my son's toes but if my son was a girl I still wouldn't until she was older & knew how to sit still on command..)

IMO it is not something that I associate with babies, even little girls. They have a lot of time for that stuff later on.

  • People who are constantly harassing me for baby photos or who are constantly trying to take pictures of my baby.  Hello, MIL, enjoy the moment and stop flashing in her little face!  Why must we hyper document everything?

  • I'm kind of glad DH is working evenings tonight so that at 7pm and DS goes down, I can watch TV, read, have a bath, cook, all alone. Haha does that make me a bad wife? I'm strangely relaxed/excited to be alone.

Ugh my IL's are the same way! Infact whenever they come see us they always have to take atleast 50 pictures of them with the girls. Never any of DH and I with them. Ummm hello....I have to ask them to take a picture of the 4 of us.

I just think when they are tiny, it looks weird! I would have been like, "Aww how cute!" if she was walking, but not when she's still all wrinkly and red!

  • ITA about nail polish and hair bows on baby girls. And earrings. They have so much time for that stuff later on, I guess I don't like to see it forced on them.

My UO is that I don't get Pinterest. I have it, and I try to get into it because everyone else seems to love it, but I can't.

  • I put bows in G's hair all the time. Her hair is already in her eyes. I'd rather put bows in her hair now then give her bangs that might be a pain to grow out later. :)

  • I think it is ridiculous to pierce a babies ears. To me it just seems cruel and unnecessary. My Mom did it to me and although I do think that it I can be cute, I just can't imagine forcing my child to go through pain like that. Plus, I'd much rather wait until she was old enough to decide for herself and we can make it a special day!

my thoughts exactly. Except thankfully, my mother never pierced mine as a baby.
