I am usually ok with doing the dairy/soy free diet for DD2. However, this week I am feeling like it is really hard. Tuesday my boss brought chili and watching everyone top it was cheese was...well lets just say it looked reallllly gooooood. I didn't even have any chili
Then today someone brought in some breakfast items. The scrambled eggs looked and smelled so good. But I am afraid to have them incase they have milk in them. They also had pancakes which looked really tasty, but more then likely made with milk. So I took some of the fresh fruit instead and it tasted rotten
There really is no point to this post. I just had to vent somewhere that this is a hard week for me to be on the mspi diet. It is really important to me that I EBF so I will continue to do it, but as soon as I can I am jumping right back into eating dairy/soy again.
Re: Having a bad day: mspi
I feel your pain. I am on the TED. I can't eat anything people bring to work.
My mom offered to babysit so DH and I could celebrate our anniversary last weekend. We went on a hike because I can't go to any restaurants.
I have those days too. Pizza is like kryptonite. Cheese-less, thin crust pizza is just so unsatisfying I won't even spend $ on it anymore.
And I think the cold weather is making it even harder - I would love to indulge in some comfort foods but they seem to all have dairy. I am dreading the holidays.
It is hard being around food you can't eat. It's hardest for me when we go out to eat and I can't have any dessert. Some places have smoothies I can have, so that works, but most of the time I just sit there while everyone eats their dessert. I really miss my Dairy Queen Butterfinger Blizzards.
Just a warning about when you can go back on dairy - make sure you do it slowly. Once you've been dairy free for a while, your body isn't used to processing it anymore (and we all know dairy is hard to digest in the first place). So just be careful to reintroduce it into your diet slowly.
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas

I was just saying to MH that my body might completely shut down when we are able to go back to The Cheesecake Factory
OP, you aren't alone. It sucks, but it's worth it. This week I thought I was going to have to stop BF immediately and I was devastated. It makes me look at the diet in a new way. For now, anyway.
