shot schedule?

Just curious to see what other Pediatricians/ Parents are doing for the shot schedule. I worry with her being so little that getting the 6 or so that are recommended at 2 months will be too much for her. Are you following the CDC schedule or using a different one? If you are using a different one can you share what it looks like and how receptive was your pediatrician to a different schedule?

We're doing the regular shot schedule based on actual age.  My daughter actually got her 2-month shots in the NICU.  She actually got 3 physical shots--one had several in 1 syringe.  They broke it up over 2 days since she was in there.  At 4 months, at the pediatrician, she just got the shots in one visit.

This exactly. Its actually important for preemies to get shots based on their actual age because it would be very hard on them if they contracted any of the diseases we immunize against. The actual amount of meds in each shot is based on weight so it won't be too much for your LO. If you are really concerned, you can ask the pedi to break them up over several days but it will require several visits from you.

We are doing ours with actual age and according to the aap schedule. Our pedi doesn't allow you to alter it and we weren't planning to anyway. He did fine except he was a little cranky after the 2 month shots. Not looking forward to the 4 month shots tomorrow!
