For all of you who have taken their LO for their first round of vaccines, how did your LO act/react afterwards.
My LO just had her 2 month check up today and after the shots (which she screamed and turned beet red while they were administered) she slept for about 5 hours on and off. She was extremely fussy and crying, but since she has fully woken up, is in a pleasent mood. She even seems like her normal self, cooing and smiling.
What about weight and height? Where does your LO fall? My LO is 9 lbs 14.5 ounces (born at 8 lbs 1 ounce) and is now 23.43 inches long (born at 20.5) She is long and lean, which isn't me or my DH!
Re: First Vaccinations
Mine also had his two month check up and shots today. Poor guy! I tried to feed him before we left, but he didn't want any. So of course when the doc started measuring and asking questions, he was yelling up a storm. The actual shots were quick and he cried a bit but soon fell asleep. He was his usual self today. Was actually easier to put to sleep at night.
He is 14 lb 2 oz and 24 inches long. Born 7 lb 14 oz.
My DD had her 2 month shots on Monday. She cried and turned red when given the shots, but calmed down after a few minutes. The rest of the day she was her normal self. Yesterday, however, she slept almost all day! Thank goodness she was not fussy!
She weighed 11 lbs 4 ozs and was 23.5 inches long. She weighed 6 lbs 15 ozs and was 20 inches long at birth.
DD got her 2 month shots today. She loved the oral which was really funny. The nurse said she'd never seen a baby drink it so quickly. She screamed bloody murder and I had a hard time calming her down. I hadn't heard her scream like that ever before.
Got her home, gave her Tylenol, she was really fussy and started screaming like crazy again. DD1 who is 20 months got scared and started screaming too. It took me even longer to get them both calmed down.
Now they are both in bed, hoping for a quiet night since daddy is at work and I am all alone!
She weighed 11 lbs 1 oz and is 23" long. She was born 6 lbs 14 oz and 20" long.
DS got his shots today. He liked the liquid and looked quite sad when it was all gone. When he was got his first shot, he turned beet red and was too upset to even scream. Then he screamed and screamed. The nurse said we could stay in the room as long as we need to, so I nursed him. He calmed down as soon as he started sucking. He fell asleep on the car ride home. He woke up when we got home and nursed again. Then he napped. He was in a pretty good mood when he first woke up. He nursed. Then he sat in his bouncer and flirted with the pendelum on our clock. He started getting fussy after about 45 minutes. I snuggled with him, and he tried to fall asleep but cried as soon as he started to fall asleep. I gave him some Tylenol, and he fell right to sleep.
He was 22" and 10 lb 6 oz when he was born. Today he was 24.5" and 13 lb 13 oz.
LO's appt was yesterday and she is long and lean too! She is a peanut at 8 lbs 8 oz (born at 6 lb 12 oz) which is just about the 10th percentile and 23 1/2 inches (born at 21 1/4) which is in the 90th percentile. SO and I definitely arent long and lean either so its very surprising!
LO had no reaction to the shots! She cried for about a minute when she first got them and that was it. She had a normal day afterwards!
