My DH and i are TTC and i am already wondering what is going to happen with my job. Some background- I am an IT Director and have to be on-call in case servers go down. Right now its every other week which is a lot. Most of the time i can fix a problem from home but others i have to come in asap.
So my question is have any of you been through this or have handled this? Is it possible to have a newborn and be on call?
Thanks!

I was also on home call 4-5 times/month after #2 was born. I also just tried to schedule call around when my husband would be home. There was once that I was on call when he was also on call, and I ended up having to go in. I took the kids with me, and they slept in their double stroller in the nurse's station.
I am a product manager for a global financial services company- basically on call 24/7. I randomly get calls about urgent issues overnight and on weekends, probably about 1-2 times a month. H is usually around so he just takes over watching E. I can sometimes handle by phone, other times I just login remotely (I WFH 70%) and fix the problems.
