October 2011 Moms

1-year Doctor Apt

DD started screaming the moment we walked in the door, and didn't stop until we buckled her into her car seat to leave. It was horrible. The doctor checked her at lightning speed and I wasn't really able to ask any questions over the wailing and writhing baby in my arms. After being examined I had calmed her to a whimper when the nurse came in to give her four shots and the screaming resumed. Absolutely exhausting!

Anyway, she is 27.7 lbs, 100th percentile and 31 inches, 95th percentile and perfectly healthy. Fingers crossed we don't have to go back anytime soon.

  • Poor DD and poor Mama. She'll sleep well tonight.

  • Wow, big little girl and I bet momma has some big muscles as well! Sorry she wasn't happy about the checkup.

  • Yikes, hope it doesn't happen at her next appointment.  Hopefully you guys can rest easy now, yay for the healthy girl!
  • Thanks, I hope she sleeps well tonight since she didn't want her birthday to end yesterday and would not go to bed. Only one arm is strong, I am totally crooked and can only carry things on my left side for some reason.
  • She's a smart girl, she already remembers why she went to the doctor's last time and probably remembers the shots. I'm sorry she was so upset the whole time for you :-( Hopefully she will sleep well tonight :-)

  • We did the same thing today.  DS has almost the exact same stats as your DD!!  Poor thing though.  I hope she feels better soon!  I am trying to convince DS to sleep.  He isn't having it.  The nurse told me to give him some Tylenol this afternoon because his arm will hurt later.  Did you get the same directions?

  • They gave her tylenol before the shots and they gave them to her in her thigh. Right now she is squealing and laughing with DH upstairs, so she is no worse for wear. I hope your DS settles down soon.
  • We did one year check ups today too!  Over all the commotion I didn't get any of her stats.  I am exhausted also(I hat eflu shot time).  Lucky for me she passed out on the ride home and has not made a peep since.

  • Poor baby and mommy is right!  We have to go to another area other than her regular doctor's office for shots, so luckily she doesn't have to remember the doctor's office in a negative way.  I haven't gotten her the 12 month shots yet, but we have only Wednesdays and Thursday to do it.  Guess who is going to have a crabby baby tomorrow...

What a healthy girl!  I hope she continues to stay that way as well.  We did get a call from the doctor after her blood work came through, and Nora was a little low in iron.  I guess we will be feeding her lots of meat, spinach, and other iron rich foods for a while.

Today must be the day for that appt, R went today too!  I'm jealous of only 4 shots, though, he had to get 7!  Poor baby, but 3 minutes after it was over, he was blowing raspberries and giggling.
