This morning, I did a mommy and me swim class with my DD while my DS stayed with my parents. After the class, I stayed with my parents for a bit and as I was getting ready to leave I noticed my engagement ring stone was missing. Me and my parents hunted the floors throughout the house/the chair cushions and it was nowhere to be found. I decided to go back to the pool to retrace my footsteps not thinking I was going to find it since it's not a very big stone--only 1ct. I walked the same route and went in every area that I went this morning and didn't find it. I even dove underwater with swim goggles to try to find it and naturally didn't. Coincidentially, I went back to the same changing room that I got dressed in this morning and accidentally stepped on it with my bare foot. What are the odds??
Re: I seriously am the luckiest person to ever live
Lucky step though.
Aghh I think I would puke if I looked down and my stone was gone.
Glad you found it!
Me too! I was so heartbroken. I mean I could have just replaced the stone, but it wouldn't have been the same.
Yep, this.
Um, this. That is pretty lucky though.
lol that's big? I always thought it was kind of average-ish. When you see it on the ground loose, it looks awful tiny!
My total wait on my wedding ring is probably 1/4 ct maybe 1/2. If i lost my center stone it'd be blown away in the wind.
FTR my ring is exactly what I wanted, I don't like large wedding rings. I honestly would be fine with a twist tie. I'm just not a jewelry girl, thank god my DH knew that about me.
This was my first thought but then I thought maybe I was being a moody snatch. Seriously, 1 ct is far larger than what mine is.
Oh, you.
Seriously, tho, that's awesome that you found the stone.
I'm always afraid mine is going to fall out. I take it twice a year to be inspected but it doesn't ease my fears. I know it's just a diamond and can replaced but like you said it wouldn't be the same.
Glad you found it!
Half true. I think it's big.
Glad you found it! And for reference according to everything I can find online it looks like the average side of a E ring dimond is 1ct so you are apparently average, not above or below. However on the luckiness quotent I think you're pretty high right now.
I would agree!
And thanks for showing me I'm not off my rocker when I think a 1ct ring isn't massive. lol.
Well, at least with that 6ct diamond ever falls off she will be able to find it easily. lol.
This reminds me of Legally Blonde: "She's got the 6 carat Harry Winston on her bony, unpolished finger...."
So glad you found it!
I lost my entire engagement ring. Thankfully it was insured, but my oh-so-romantic hubby took the money and put it into his 401K. A sign, maybe? (The market subsequently crashed).
That is really lucky KC!
I know what size my ring is because I am the one who had it insured.
This post reminds me of my days on the knot when people would brag/compare e-ring sizes and try to justify why they have the size they have.
I am trying to think of what a good analogy to the bump would be...oh..! UppaBaby vs. Graco.
I'm a shallow broad and wanted at least a ring with a .75 stone--not even going to lie. LOL. I tried on smaller rings and I didn't like them at all on me. At the time I was about 35lbs overweight so a smaller ring just didnt work with my chubby fingers. I'm about 55lbs thinner now than when I got married so now my ring looks huge on me though. haha.
I'm not too shallow though--if we couldn't have afforded a diamond that size I would have been cool with a nontraditional stone like a sapphire or something.
What? That's ridiculous.
Funny story about my e-ring....H sold off his Apple stock to buy my ring. I feel worse than he does about it. He said he doesn't care because I'm the best investment he could have made.
But he did say that if I hadn't been so antsy, I could have had a bigger ring.
Oh. Then I guess I'm more shallow than you are because I told H I wanted at least a carat.
Oh well whatever. I bought the house we live in. And it's bigger than a carat.
lol yeah
My engagement ring is made from the leftover chips that fell off when you ladies were having your diamonds cut.
If you weigh all the chips together it's a 1kt.
