I don't have any specific recs, but just a warning that if you need PT infant care, you are looking at an in-home daycare provider. Centers will not have PT care for infants under 2 years of age. I'm a little hesitant to make a blanket statement like that, but I'm fairly certain about it!

This is pretty much true, unless you want to pay for full time care (and only use it part time).
I have my LO registered at Children of America in Ellicott City for part-time infant care when he is 6 weeks. My friend has her kid there and likes it. I signed up when they were offering a great discount (rivals some of the in-home care prices I saw) so call them soon in case it is still going on.
I tried looking for PT in-home care 3 months ago and it was impossible to find a spot for late 2012 or early 2013 for my LO!
The company I work for provides a service that does all the homework and background research for childcare. I'm getting their results within the next week. I'll report back what they've found. They're looking up daycare centers as well as in my home nanny services. I'm also looking pt 23 days a week.
Centers do have part time infant care. From our search, what we found was that many offered PT care in theory, but if they had enough full-time infants, they didnt have any PT slots. It was only if they didnt have a complete set of full-time infants that they offered PT care. They don't share cribs so they have an empty slot on the days that there isn't an infant there, so it can be a waste of a FT slot if that makes sense.
BUT our center (La Petite in Columbia/Ellicott city) did have a PT care so we have our son there three days a week. It's not significantly cheaper (I think 200 less a month?) but it's enough that it makes sense for us since I WFH two days a week.
