What super pads to get?

I'm stocking up on my post RCS needs and I'm not sure what pads to get.

With DS#1 I used this big pads because I liked the front to go over my incision. I think it was Tena overnight pads or Poise? I'm not sure. What brand or style pads have you used or you're planning to use?

And does anyone know where to buy the mesh panties? I got a bunch at the hospital last time but it wasn't nearly enough.

Thanks!

  • I think I used the giant pads from the hospital for a couple days at home then switched to Always Infinity.

  • When I opened a package of the mesh I would ask for a new pack. My nurses gave me a bunch. They also gave me a bunch of pads so I didn't need to buy any.

ETA:  You might want to check a local medical supply place as well.  I asked for extras from the hospital but the nurse on duty wouldn't give me more.

I used always overnight (orange wrapper on the pads). They are not the super thick pads like at the hospital, but I've never had a leak. I also bought some granny panties two sizes too big.

This is what I did. I left all the mesh drawers in the hospital. I hated those things.

Me too. I actually had very little bleeding.

This was me too, wearing granny panties felt more comfortable AND somehow more feminine than those mesh things!  I loved the Always Infinity Overnight pads.. much thinner and more comfortable but still super absorbent.  I bought a bunch of those huge ones in prep last time because that's what everybody recommended but the Infinity work just as well and feel much less "hospital-ish" lol

  • Always Infinity Overnights were the best I found.  And I bled pretty heavy for the first 2 days home, and didn't leak once.

  • I didn't use the mesh past a couple of days, and the hospital didn't offer me more.

I either had Always or Kotex overnight (long and thick), but I didn't use them all even though I bled for awhile. I switched over to Stayfree as soon as I could because they were thinner. Not sure how the Stayfree would have held up with the super-heavy bleeding, though.

  • I used the Always Ultra Thin overnights with the mesh undies!
  • The hospital supplied as many mesh panties as I needed. I only used them for the first 2 days then switched to my own undies. They provided these really long almost diaper looking pads and always thick pads. I used the really gigantic pads for the first 2 days then I used the always pads (green wrapper) till I left the hospital 5 days later. I didn't really have a heavy flow and switched to Always Ultra thin overnights.
