We live right across from a park that's patrolled by local police a few times a day. Last night just as we were walking down our walk to head there, a police car was coming out of the park and Aiden was pointing and yelling "Pleece car!" The cop had noticed Aiden and turned on his lights and sirens and waved to him and it just made Aiden's day. Such a little thing and it was so sweet. /random

Re: I love being surprised by nice people
Awesome!!
We were walking one day and there were 3 fire trucks that went by (which was like all that we have in town) and they turned sirens off for the block we were in which I tought was really nice.
I love that!!
Both of my boys love trucks, cars, anything with wheels. We were in the Outer Banks for vacation this summer. There was a life guard on the beach with a 4-wheeler. He let my kids sit on it, pretend to drive it, he let us take pictures of them on it. He was really nice and it made their day.
That's awesome!
Once we saw a few firefighters putting out a small brush fire (it was really minor, far from a major emergency), one of them went back to the truck and got firefighter coloring books to pass out to he kids. Who knew that firefights carry around coloring books?
Cute.
My dad is a police officer and loves it when the idea that the police are your friends and are there to help is reinforced. I'm glad this officer made your DS's day.
Burned by the Bear
It only takes a second for someone to make a child's entire day! I love to hear these kinds of stories!
We live across the street from a train track, so whenever we hear the train coming, DD gets really excited. I usually try to walk outside on the porch with her so she can wave at the train, and it always makes her so happy if they see her and ring the bell for her. It's the little things!
