Just read through the lunch rut post below and saw that some of you give your LO's crackers, so just wondering what kind you give? That goes for soup as well...are you giving ready made soup like Campbells or making your own? I don't want to load L up on processed stuff but now that she's one I'm slacking off because I figure her tummy can handle more adult flavors.
Re: Crackers and Soup
I have given E Ritz Hint of Salt, Goldfish, and Low Salt Saltines. She loves crackers!
Also, I have given her canned soup when in a pinch. Progresso Low Sodium Chicken Noodle. But she doesn't get the broth, she just likes to eat the veggies and pasta out of it.
DD gets whole grain Goldfish. She goes nuts for them.
I've tried to give her homemade baked potato soup but she wasn't crazy about it.
Burned by the Bear
She has had Club crackers, the Baby Goldfish, and Ritz type crackers before. We don't really buy canned soup because I'm not big on the amount of salt in them but we occasionally buy the store made soup that doesn't appear to have as much salt in it. I plan on trying to make soup this fall/winter since I have gotten more into cooking from scratch of late.
Monday we got some tomato basil soup and had grilled cheese sandwiches but I didn't let her feed herself any of the soup. I dipped her grilled cheese in it before giving the pieces to her.
My kid gets homemade soup.
For crackers I give him goldfish or oyster crackers
