Update nuchal translucency

Thanks to those of you who responded last week.  I thought I'd give an update.  Saw the specialist today and he wasn't very optimistic.  The NT measures about 4.2mm and is septated which I guess is a bad sign.  I am going to have a CVS on Friday.  He said that with where my placenta is lying the risk is about 1/500 for the procedure causing miscarriage and that my odds of chromosome abnormality are very high.  The paperwork they gave me said anywhere from 50-80%. 

 Serious pgal moment happening.  I just can't believe some people just have babies without any problems at all.  I just don't understand why these things keep happening to us.  I really hope we are lucky this time.

I am so sorry you are going through this... I will keep you, DH, and your precious LO in my prayers. I truly hope that there is nothing wrong. Just try to keep breathing, and not freak out too much (I know, yeah right!). God never gives us more than we can handle. (((HUGS)))

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this.  I know this is scary and ridiculously unfair, but try to remember that you don't have any definitive answers yet, just some indications that there may be a problem.

I'm so sorry you didn't get better news.  I'm new to the board but just wanted to reply that I will be crossing my fingers for you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.  So many times I hear of women getting results that are like yours and it turns out in the end that everything is absolutely fine.  I am hoping that is the case for you.  ((((hugs))))
