    whats the budget? Because my parents have an iPad for Buddy at their house and its great, he has loads of educational games on it, videos. We don't have an extra 500$ to spend on a tablet for him. He'll get my old (turned off) iPhone when I upgrade.

    We bought a used iPad from a friend for our trip to Hawaii last year.  DD loves it and we've downloaded a ton of great free apps

    I just started looking around, so can't really recommend a specific one, but I came across this site. Maybe it would be helpful to you for a starting point? https://www.squidoo.com/best-tablets-for-kids

    I do have Nook Color for myself and my 2 yr. old loves using it. There are a lot of apps he can play - he prefers ones with shapes/numbers/letters and also enjoys the kids books I hae on it. There are also a lot my 7 yr. old likes, too.

    We are getting a Kindle Fire for DS from the new baby this Christmas...and mom might get to play with it too when he goes to bed ;)  I am tired of him taking over my computer.
