My DS had his first day of preschool the other day. I have been reluctant to put him in daycare/preschool because of his sensory problems and speech delay, but finally made the decision to try it and see how it goes. I was a nervous wreck thinking he's gonna be awful and get kicked out the first day. Well to my surprise I never rec'd a phone call from them so I walked in and the director smiled and gave a thumbs up and said he did great. What a relief. She said he didn't nap, but that's to be expected but that he did really well and was a pleasure. I couldn't believe it. I felt like it would be good for him to be around other kids his age, but I was really relieved he did so well. He never cried, which in a way made me sad that he didn't miss me, and yet I was so proud that he transitioned so well. I am so excited for him and for me as well. What a huge step for him and his mama.
