So, I went to the doc today 99.999% sure I had a uti which had gone to my kidneys (this is totally usual, I normally don't get symptoms until this point.) Well, after my labs came back, she said there was nothing wrong with me and was wondering if because of my symptoms if I could be pregnant. Ok lady, I don't remember burning when you pee a symptom of pregnancy, but what evs. So, I told her no, I was not pregnant. She side eyed my and asks what I'm using for protection. Really? I just told you no, I wasn't pregnant. So I tell her condoms. She goes on to tell me that you could still get pregnant. So I had to basically yell at her that I haven't had sex since my 2 month old was born.
After that she basically said nothing. So I still don't know why I feel like crap.
Re: Seriously doc?!
Sounds similar to DH's issues with water retention in one foot (well, the pee pain isn't his issue!) Since college only one of his feet has seriously retained water. The swelling goes down when he makes sure he is super hydrated or when he takes a water pill (his mom has some and let him try it). In college he got an ultrasound to rule out blood clots, and it was clear. About a year ago he had it checked again. This doctor simply said "water retention would be in both feet, not just one. if it's just one, it's a blood clot. Go to the ER."
We reminded him that this had been an issue for maybe 7 years, but we humored him and went to the ER. No clot. Went back and told the doctor it wasn't a clot, he literally shrugged, and that was that. No other ideas/advice/treatment.
He has an appointment with a new doctor a couple weeks from now. haha.
It's like "oh, the biggest possible problem was ruled out? Cool, we'll ignore it then."
