Why? Just curious? I'm torn on what to do? I'm honestly worried about the side effects of the shots. I did not get him one last year when he was 6-12 months during flu time.. He stays home with me, but of course we go out and to story time. When he gets a cold he gets really sick needs the nebulizer. So I'm very torn. I just would hate him to not get it and get sick, but then again we all were ok without getting one when we were little. At least I never had one until maybe my 5 th year of teaching only bc they offered them... What are you planning on doing? Thanks! Just worried
Re: Is anyone Not getting a flu shot for their LO?
Honestly, I'd think you were foolish if you had a child who was immune compromised and you didn't get a flu shot. The risks of the flu are much greater (especially for a child who has a lung condition) vs the risks of the flu shot.
What were the side effects?? That is what I'm nervous about..
If he gets that sick from a cold, then he really should get a flu shot. What side effects are you worried about?
Here's the CDC's info sheet about it:

DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
I've gotten the flu shot at least 10 times and never had any more reaction than a sore arm. DD and I got it last week and she had no reaction other than a few seconds of crying when she got the shot. In my doctor's words, the flu is basically a viral pneumonia, so if your son already has breathing issues, I would get it in a heartbeat.
I get the flu shot every year, and have never had a reaction.
My son got the flu shot along with his 6 other 1 year vaccines a few weeks ago - zero reaction to any, so zero reaction to the flu shot.
This! DH nor I get them either. Once LO is ready for school I will reconsider it.
This. I'm anti-flu shot, but if myy LO had breathing problems I would 100% get it.
