Humidifier

Please recommend your humidifier. I need to get one for DS and I have no idea what to get. I kind of like the idea of a warm mist because his room gets pretty cold already. TIA

Re: Humidifier

  • I have a warm mist by Vick's.

  • We have a hard-core humidifier that holds multiple gallons of water and uses a fan to distribute the humidity. We have it in the main hall of our house and it pretty much covers the entire space of our first floor (ranch house). We need this because of all the allergy issues and skin issues in our house.  It is right outside of the LO's room, and it really odes the trick for these cold, dry Wisconsin winters that we get, with dew points in the low teens on average.

We had the smaller vicks units and after a month or so they stop doing what they should be doing, which is providing moisture.

Our model is a Lasko 1128.

  • Vicks! Cool or warm! You can buy it at walmart!

If the link works, that is the one we use. Vicks cool mist, filter free V4500. But pricier but had good reviews, didn't have to buy filters, pretty quiet. But I do understand your concern about the room being cold already, I think it cooled the room down a little, but the NICU nurses I talked to, all said cool mist is the best. And I do think it helped my girls, they are just getting over a cold, more 8 weeks old.
