QOTW: With the weather turning cooler, what are some of your favorite fall dishes to cook and eat?
I love to cook stews and I love baking! This weekend I made pumpkin cheese cake muffins! YUM!!
Updates/vents:
We found out we are having a GIRL and we are very excited!
I am still on the fence about VBAC VS RCS and it is kind of driving me nuts. Neither option sounds super appealing and I really wish I would just make up my mind and go with it!! I am meeting with a doula Friday to see what she has to say so maybe that will help.
Have a great week!
Please add me too! Shellbear+ (Michelle) 4/23/12
Many t&p to beniotfan and baby Ashton to keep baking!
QOTD: It hasn't gotten cool here yet ugh. It should be in the 80's this weekend which I'm excited about lol. I do love to make chili and soups in the crockpot so I can't wait until we get some fall weather.
Updates: This Friday is my nt scan and I'm so incredibly nervous. I think if this goes well then I might be able to breathe a little bit and get excited. And we will finally tell a few close family members.
BFP #1 - missed m/c 4.18.11 found @8w3d, d&c @13w
BFP #2 blighted ovum found 8.2011 @8w, misoprostol
BFP#3 - missed m/c 6.11.12 @ 9w3d, d&c revealed extra chromosome 15
BFP#4 8.10.12, DD born 4/26/13
QOTW: With the weather turning cooler, what are some of your favorite fall dishes to cook and eat?
Chocolate chip cookies, apple pie, banana bread, soup, apple cider, pumpkin lattes.... I could go on!
Updates/vents:
I'm due next week and have been cramping/contracting on an off for over a week! This morning I woke up to menstrual cramps but as soon as I got out of bed they went away. I really want this baby to come soon! Getting nervous for my no-drugs birth plan, but really hoping I can do it.
M/C Nov 9, 2011 at 11 weeks.... We love you & miss you
Hello! I'm proud and happy to be on this board! In my 20s I would have never thought I would say that but life has an interesting way of changing you and I am soo blessed to be expecting my first at the age of 37!

Due Dec. 15.
Team green so far, but we still may decide to peek at our ultrasound envelopes. We were team green w/ the first two, but this time, I kind of just want to know.
Fall Foods: Soups, plus apple pie/apple squares/apple crisp, etc, or pumpkin bars/pumpkin pie/pumpkin muffins! Yum.
QOTW: With the weather turning cooler, what are some of your favorite fall dishes to cook and eat?
I am getting excited to make lamb stroganoff and chili. Yum!
Updates/vents:
I am still waiting for the rest of the results of my NT scan. They said 7-10 days after the CVS so I should be hearing any time now. Otherwise, I am taking one day at a time and feel grateful for each victory.

Hi! Nice to see you've taken this over, danuli
Hope benoit is doing well! Go Ashton- cook it up and stay put for a little while longer!! XXX
QOTW: With the weather turning cooler, what are some of your favorite fall dishes to cook and eat?
I'm dying for anything apple right now- apple butter, apple blossoms, apple pie......also been busting out my chili, chicken pot pie and heavier pasta dishes. Love fall!
Updates/vents:
Other than that- peeing less, which is great! And back on track w/sleep, energy and feeling good. Which is nice, so I can get back to having a life>
Next appt Oct 22- blood work for spina bifida.
Had our NT scan and it all went well- came back with the risks of a 20 year old, which at 39, was shocking! To say the least.
QOTW: I love making soups! I made tortellini soup yesterday. I'm not much of a baker but pumpkin bread sounds really good right now.
Update: I am 8w0d today. I go in for another u/s tomorrow, I hope the babies are still baking away. Always nervous before an u/s.

Updates: Had my a/s last week and found out we are having a girl. DH and I are absolutely thrilled!! I have been feeling some movement over the last 10 days - feels like little waves. I can't wait to feel more regular movement.
QOTW: It is not even cool enough to feel like fall here in Southern California. Still in the 80s. I did make butternut squash ravioli last night and that was a fall dish and yummy.
BFP #2 - 7/1/12 - Met my lucky charm Alexandra on 3-16-13!!!
QOTW: I love ANYTHING pumpkin! Love pumpkin bread, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin ravioli.....mmmmm. All so good! I also love the homemade apple pies my hubby makes this time of year! Yum! Too bad I can't eat any of it because of the GD diagnosis! UGH! I just may need to have a cheat day so I can eat it all!
UPDATES:
Things going fairly well. My feet, ankles, and joints are aching. Feet and ankles look like sausages by end of the day. I start my weekly NST at high risk beginning today. Other than that and being clearly uncomfortable while sleeping no other complaints!
My shower was last weekend. I have my school shower next week. Baby's room is almost done. Now sorting through and washing shower gifts to put away. So much fun! This week principal has interviews set up for my 12 week maternity leave. I've been a little stressed about this and "giving up control" a bit. Im hoping finding my replacement will ease that a little. I can't believe this is all going to happen in about 4-5 weeks!I'm looking forward to making soups and chili..YUM!!
I booked my RCS today. We will be having baby Patterson on Oct 26th
I'm so excited!!
I'd like to come out and play.

Yay, a check-in! Not sure why, but I have been lurking and waiting for one to jump in again.
QOTW: With the weather turning cooler, what are some of your favorite fall dishes to cook and eat?
Right now the nausea is getting me and the only thing that sounds good is fresh fruits and veggies. I really want to make some baked potato soup!!!
Updates/vents:
Have had two ultrasounds since I last checked-in. First at 5w 3d where we did see a heartbeat, and the second last week at 7w 3d where we heard the heartbeat for the first time. What a wonderful sound!!! Going back for one more ultrasound this Wednesday before the doc is ready to put me on a "regular" OB schedule.
NT scan scheduled the first week of November. I have never had this scan with the maternal fetal medicine practice. Last time it was with my regular OB. We hope to not move forward with any more testing, fingers crossed. I am a nurse and love google, so the less I know is usually better.
QOTW: With the weather turning cooler, what are some of your favorite fall dishes to cook and eat?
I am not the cook in the family DH is. Some of my favorite foods though in the fall winter is his Chili, and his turkey meatloaf. My favorite meal he makes! Apple Crisp! He uses Honey-crisp apples. So good
Updates/vents:
Nursery is painted! nothing in it but it is painted.
Starting today I have to do a Biophysical profile every week. LO passed 8 out of 8 and is looking good!
Welcome to the check-in! Good to see you here and I'll make sure you are added to next week's list!
Pumpkin bread!
Yum! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Is there a particular recipe you like to use?
EDIT: This is supposed to be a reply to Tx-Bride at the very top of this thread! I hit reply next to her message, but it sent me all the way down here! What gives??
Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.
All right, let me try replying this way. (benoitfan, feel free to commence pointing and laughing at me!) Although I am a technical doofus, I am glad you are here and will add you to the list for next week's check-in! Welcome!
Edited because weeks' and week's are NOT the same thing.

I'm here and all is well. Anatomy scan tomorrow, and I can finally feel movement!!
QOTW: it is spring down here, so I'm going to be a rebel and post spring foods. It has gotten so hot here that my thoughts have turned to salads and vegetables. My garden is bursting with baby spinach, lettuce, and new peas, so my favorite thing to eat right now is a giant bowl of those, plus handfuls of herbs, in a light vinaigrette. Mmmm. I may just go have that for breakfast.
Next week, strawberry season begins, so I will be reeling with a salad bowl full of perfect berries to get through every day. Bring on the smoothies! I'm also going to make my now famous strawberry lemon liqueur, which is best when aged a few months. It is totally coming to the hospital with me. I am labeling the bottle with the words "victory dance."
Home in the bush.
QOTW: I love all things fall. I guess if I had to pick a favorite that it would be soups. This weekend I made beef barley.
Update: It's a girl! So excited that I can actually plan for this baby now. However, now that I can start shopping, I don't like anything that I see. I did find out that I have a partial placenta previa. I am hoping that it resolves by the next ultrasound so that I don't have to have a scheduled c-section.
T & P for Benoitfan and Ashton!!
QOTW: If I wasn't still in the middle of 24hr nauseous and food aversions I'd love to talk about my favorite fall foods, but thinking about anything at this point makes me feel queasy...:)
Update: NT scan tmrw, totally nervous but feel encouraged by the wave of good NT's on the board.. 2 more weeks and change until 2nd Tri!!!

Thank again for taking over, Danuli! And all the best for a continuing pg for Benoitfan and her little Ashton!
QOTW:
)
I'm a autumn baker. DD and I have already made muffins and brownies this weekend, and we're planning a few kinds of cookies and mini pumpkin pies hopefully before the end of the week. (I've made promises to the office, but at least they understand timing depends on my energy levels.
We also started a tradition of making a healthy Chicken Taco Stew in the crock pot. I think DH is planning on starting that today or tomorrow. half of it will be frozen for post-baby insta-foods!
Updates/Vents:
I've hit that point where there is so much I want to do, and I lose energy after about two hours of doing anything (and I mean anything) leaving me sort of loafing on the couch if I'm not tired enough to nap. At least DH has been fantastic about picking up the slack with both house prep/cleaning and keeping DD company if she isn't snuggling up with me.
Also, at my last appointment on Friday, Dr said that LO had flipped around since the last u/s and he's now headbutting my ribs. I have another u/s scheduled this Friday to see if he decides to reorient himself (and despite all the crazy movements, I'm quite sure that's still his head pushing against my arm), we'll discuss options for if LO decides he's comfortable as is.
Fave fall food:
Butternut squash-roasted, soup, risotto...yum!
Updates/vents:
+ Had a great A/S and found out we're having a boy! Slept through the night twice this week!

The dreams are killing me! DH told me that it is completely normal to have frequent bad dreams during pregnancy. He then showed me in the pregnancy book that I got for free from my insurance company. I advised him to look up pregnancy rage.
Haha, good call! Smartarse hubbies need to choose their words carefully.
Thank you ladies for all the support. We really do appreciate it. Danuli...thanks for taking over!
QOTW:
I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin loaf, zuchinni loaf and butternut squash and coconut milk soup...YUM!
Update/vent: Well, we made it to 32w which is amazing. Ashton seems quite content to stick it out a while longer and I have had very few contrax. I go for another BPP u/s on Thurday and am now down to NSTs every other day. They have relaxed my bedrest restictions a tiny bit (I am now allowed to do some laps of the ward each day and if I have a visitor, they can take me off the floor in a wheelchair. All this bedrest has put my bowels at a complete standstill, sorry if tmi. They have me on 3 different meds to try and get things moving, but we are on day 3 without much luck. All the straining and brought out the hemmies....oh JOY. Seriously and HUGE pain in the @$$. I would give pretty much anything to poop!
Sadly, he was not being a smart***. He really did think that he was being helpful.

QOTW:
I love chili and soup. I have a great turkey chili recipe from Weight Watchers and everyone loves it! Have a great week everyone I'm anxiously counting down the days until my first u/s next Wednesday!
1. omigosh, how did my BM get moved to the top third of the list? And there are May EDDs??? aaahhh, too fast!
2. Two favorite fall dishes around here are Pumpkin Chowder and Elk & Sweet Potato Stew. Both super yummy, way healthy, and always even better the next day.
3. No real updates - hitting 30 weeks on Thurs (unbelievable!) It's feeling more & more real - I had 3 hrs of painful contractions Saturday night, but they fell jj uu ss tt inside my mw's "don't worry about it" guidelines. Although, I was getting a bit worried as they got toward the 3 hr mark. But, then they stopped, so I guess, all is well. I'm starting every 2wk appts this week too.
I totally went to the old man section in Walmart and bought suspenders! It got me through the awkward weeks before my bump filled in the maternity pants! I wore them under my tops so the general public didn't see them (DH got a kick out it!) but remember to plan for the bathroom!!
GL, JM
QOTW - Turkey chili - I must make some this week.
Update - I haven't been on here in so long - I hate not being able to log on at work now! Still dealing with some m/s/. Improving, but still there. Doc tried me on Reglan, but it didn't do anything, so I am back on Zofran since it helped a little (but not much). I have a regular checkup next week and in two weeks we get the big ultrasound - can't wait to find out!
So I totally failed at responding to each post as was my plan...EPIC fail. Work was so crazy Monday, and by the time I started replying, the replies were showing up 15 messages later. I'll try and do better next week. *hangs head*
But at the very least, I want to give a big "yay!" to benoitfan on her excellent baking update and a shout-out to JilliansMoma for her excellent tip to help those of us whose mat pants are still a little baggy: suspenders! In addition, there were at least two posters who had ultrasounds today--hope all went well!
Also, we had TEN new check-ins! Let's give it up for TXBride, Shellbear+, wildflower 75, NicoleWI, Ocho2002, Rebaann, danieleandwayne, Alicialgb, dodo1202, and JilliansMoma!
Welcome to all of you, and here's wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy! I'll make sure you're on the list for next week's check-in. If I overlooked anyone, I apologize. Please hit me over the head and reply to this message.
