Working Moms

Need support/vent

Ok I am more then depressed right now...

I was on maternity leave and during that I also lost job...So for the past few months I was looking like insane new job and no luck....

I have a ba degree and had to sign today a contract for cashier as this is the only job I can get now. I tried everything and now I am just so dissapointed and said. I was working full time job and studing, just to have a better chance in career and life....and after more the 5 years of experineces in my field I have to settle for much much less....:(

At this moment I feel like a child,...I want to burn my degree and take my money back that I payed for getting ba degree..........I know its inpossible.....but just a vent ....

Re: Need support/vent

  • Not sure what your degree/education is in but do you have an opportunity to go PT in your field or maybe temporary? I have a BA in Human Resources and even though I had some experience I didn't have enough to do what I really wanted.  I started in a temp position and slowly moved my way up the career path to an HR Assistant.  I'm still not in my desired position but I'm certainly on my way.  Or at least I hope.

I do know how you feel after so much money/time/energy is invested only to have to revert to something else.  Good Luck

I have tried everything...PT, temporary...and in our state vouleentiring is something rather new and unknown...so yes very dissapointed...

I know that I couldnt get immediaty something on the top of the branch...but to sign for this is more then dissapointing to me...plus I will have to work all saturdays and most sundays...:( So no time for my baby boy....

But we need another paycheck so there is no debate into not doing it...

  • That is really frustrating, but don't let it get you down.  You're being a great mom by doing what it takes to help support your family.  As PP mentioned, just think of this a pit stop, and keep applying and networking like crazy.  You won't be stuck in the position forever.
