Found out the DS is SEVERELY allergic to peanuts and sesame seed :(

I know there are much worse things in life, but I am so devasted with this news.  I am so paranoid about everything DS eats.  Really sucks that his older sister LOVES peanut butter!!

Anyway, just wanted to vent and see if anyone else is in the same boat as my DS.  Thanks

I found out a little after my oldest DD turned one that she was allergic to peanuts. Though its not as severe and the doctor thinks she will grow out of it. My fear is that it will get worse.

 My family LOVES peanut butter and its always at family functions in some kind of cake or cookies. But you learn to let everyone know and remind them every time you see them just in case. My Biggest fear is some one forgetting and she has a severe reactions.

You learn to adapt to that and now we only have almond butter in the house, and she loves it and it is a much healthier alternative. My youngest DD will probably not be introduced to it till I get her tested and she is 2. Just to make sure.

How did you find out and what were his reactions? Also post on allergy board on ideas how to inform family, alternatives (like maybe cashew or almond butter will be ok) Those are still really good and very healthy! Sorry you had to go through that
