How do you keep them warm? A swaddle doesn't work since the RnP strap goes between their legs. I feel like a sleeper alone can't be warm enough. I thought about tucking a small blanket around his waist and legs, but doesn't that go against the 'no blankets while sleeping' rule?
Thanks!

Re: If your LO sleeps in a RnP
Thanks! It's pretty chilly where I am but we keep our house at 72. I guess I thought a sleeper wouldn't be warm enough bc if I slept in a sleeper with no blanket, I'd be cold! :
This. Once she is old enough to get out of the RNP I will either transition to her crib or just put her in a sleeper.
I put a blanket around her waist. When she started to pull the blankets up to her face, I stopped using them but it was also the beginning of summer then so we really didn't need them.
For those of you that don't strap: a few months ago, a mom posted on one of the boards that her LO turned over in the RnP and could not breathe. He was face down and she found in just in time. Pretty scary! I also used the straps!

I tightly tuck a light blanket (usually one of the aden and anais) around DS's legs while he is strapped in. He is a wiggler when asleep, but breaks out of every swaddle we have tried since coming home from the hospital. He also hates the swaddlemes for some reason... he also turns himself to his side when in a swaddle.
I always strap him in now since the one day when we didn't strap him in, and he had wiggled himself in further so he was slouched over and his feet were closer to the edge.
We leave his arms free since he throws them around while he sleeps, and I didn't want him pulling the blanket over his face.
I just put him in the footie pajamas and he does fine. Since it's gotten colder, I went out and bought a couple more that are thicker/warmer. Some nights if his feet are cold, I put socks on him and then the footie pajamas. He seems to do just fine.
Oh I don't strap him in either. He isn't rolling at all yet.
