I told DH recently that if the house wasn't 98% done being remodeled by December, I was taking my favorite things out & burning it to the ground. Am I being overly harsh?
Possibly. Or because we're on our 3rd year of this effing remodel & I am sickanddamntired of the dust, mess, and other such nonsense. Also, IT IS NOT DONE STILL.
OMG a 3 year remodel? No, you are not being too harsh. Was it supposed to take this long? Depending on the original timeline, you may be entitled to be even harsher;)

To be fair, we're doing a lot. We got the upstairs done before P got here, which included gutting/redoing the bathroom, installing hardwoods, building a walk-in closet, and painting.
Now we're finishing the addition to the dining room & the redo of the downstairs bath. Eventually, we will do hardwoods in the office downstairs & the living room. I said "STOP" though. He didn't argue one bit.
Oh I thought you meant 3 years in the same room. lol It can take a while with multiple areas. It's still a long time to put up with it though. I'll be over in an hour with a full gas can. I'll grab some marshmallows for smores too.

Only year 3? Pfft. Bish, come talk to me when you are on year 8 and the drywall is still not completely sanded in your bathroom, the door is still unfinished, the cabinets you sanded and stained have to be done again because some jackass never got around to finishing them, plus 50 other things. At least when he started the garage he finished that. And the siding. Well, mostly on the siding. There is still stuff to finish up there too.
Fire is too good for this place.
Oh, I think I had a mini-stroke reading that. Ahhhhh!

Nope...sounds pretty reasonable to me. Sometimes you gotta light a fire under someones a$$ to get sh!t done.

Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

Aside from the fact that a conflagration would be awesome, it'd put you back time wise. Should just get a case of wine and munches, I'll come help finish!
Three years is two too many, I'd say, so you've been very kind and generous with time. We did a very similar set of renovations and finished it in one year flat. As we both hate living in a construction site, we worked hard to finish in the timeframe defined.
Re: How fair am I being?
If you burn the house, just cover the yard in hay. It'll go up in flames too. Win-Win.

Make sure insurance is paid, and if any fire dept dues, and burn baby burn.
