New skill... UGH!

LO has figured out how to sit up from laying down (and is very nearly pulling herself up to stand).  This new skill means she will NOT fall asleep... and she doesn't like to be rocked to sleep, she wants to be put down and fall asleep on her own.  But now that she's sitting up she won't fall asleep?

What would you do in this situation?  Besides the fact that she is cutting at least one tooth and sleep sucks for us right now anyway.....

We went through the same thing honestly, he did go to sleep just after an hour of practicing. It took about two weeks for him to be normal again just a phase!

If she isn't upset, I'd let her do her thing for a while and put herself to sleep. Sometimes they get kind of obsessed with a new skill for a while and have to do it until they drop. It will pass.

Right there with you! DS just learned how to stand, so now wants to do that instead of sleep. I'm praying it passes quickly, or I'm going to be a zombie mama this week!

I'd let her be. She will figure it out.

JB pulls up in the crib and can't easily get down so he usually screams. If JB is happy in the crib I just leave him. If he is crying I will wait a good 510 mins depending on the cry so he wears himself out. Then when I hold him to rock him he goes to sleep because he was exhausted from the crying.
