Tummy Time

I asked my pediatrician about tummy time. He said we will discuss it at her 2 mo check up. I have done it a few times but she hates it so I do not do it for long. Now I noticed that her head does look a little flat on one side. Should I be concerned about this? Her 2 mo appointment is not for 2 more weeks.

My pedi told me to do 5 min of tummy time a day from birth. I would start now. Tummy time is not going to hurt your LO.

My pedi said at this age to do tummy time for 3 to 5 minutes twice a day and to expect them to get a little upset. They will enjoy tummy time more as they get older and gain more head control.

I don't think the flat side of the head really has anything to do with tummy time but rather the preference they have when they are laying on their back. My LO is kinda flat on one side. We've been trying to get him to turn to the other side by propping a rolled towel under the crib sheet on the side we don't want him on to encourage him to face the other way. So far it only works about 30 percent of the time.
