My DS is almost 2 months now and was circumcised at birth. Should I have to be pulling skin back so he doesn't get all gross in the creases? Is this normal to have to do that?
I asked my pedi about this because he didn't tell us to do it. He said if the baby has a "fat pad" you have to. I'm not sure what a fat pad is because my DS doesn't have one, but that is the answer I got!
Need a good read? There's a new blogger in town... www.thepinningmama.com
We were told to pull the skin back, especially while it heals. We have done it at every diaper change. I'd imagine we will continue after its all healed just to make sure it's clean.
We were never told to do that so no I don't think it's normal. DS' has healed fine.
I'm wondering why you weren't told this? You should absolutely be doing it or the skin can grow back. I thought doing it once or twice a day was okay, but when we saw the pedi last week she actually had to pull it and get some of the skin the was growing back to detach again. You should do it a few times a day.

We actually just got home from the doctor and DS had to have his ripped apart bc the skin was growing back! She told me to make sure that you can see the ridge so that it looks like a mushroom. I was pulling the skin back each time, but not nearly hard enough. So make sure you can see the ridge ladies!!!
Re: circ question
We were told to do it once a day.

We weren't told this either. Very interesting...
