Need advice

First post! Sorry it isn't a very enjoyable one. 

 

I hired a babysitter, and didn't have time to get to know her, I was in a rush. When DH and I got back from the movies our babysitter informed us that she crushed up a tylenol 3 (with codine!) and rubbed it on our 2 month old daughters gums to get her to go to sleep. She said she had seen it posted on the internet and that other people did it and it worked. So is it actually ok, or should we be worried?

Well I don't want to call poison control, because I don't want to get the sitter in trouble. I Just want to know if she's spitting up more than usual because of the T3's, or because she had to drink from a bottle while we were gone (she's normally breast fed).

You can call poison control to get info it will help ease your mind. Otherwise you are doing the same as her by getting your info from people on the Internet ;

And I would be super upset, I don't know why some people think its okay to do that sort of thing with someone else's baby.

And OMG, I don't even like taking T3s myself!!! I have only done so post c/s. Eek, to give them to my baby? NO FREAKING WAY.

I would be calling the police, to be perfectly honest. Rather, I'd be going to the ER, and I'd be letting them know exactly who she was and what had happened and that I'd like to press charges if at all possible. Maybe I am overreacting but the thought of someone nonchalantly giving my baby an uncontrolled dose of narcotics without my permission (as if I'd give permission) is just horrifying.

Was the T3 something you had that she dug around your home for? Was it something se brought to your place? Either way, I'd be shxtting bricks... or entire apartment complexes. This sounds terrifying (the fact that anyone would think something like this is okay to do; I'm definitely not saying your baby is in danger, although I certainly recommend contacting a medical professional in some way asap just to be safe).
