NBR: Etsy addiction and girl clothes

I need to stay away from that site. I'd blow my whole paycheck if I let myself log on after a couple glasses of wine! And little girl stuff! So freaking cute! I am not into pink for me but God I love shopping for little girl things! Don't get me wrong, boy stuff is adorable but after 8 years of boy clothes and boy toys I am all over this girl stuff! I can't wait for dolls and dollhouses. Anyone else turning into a freak about girly stuff?? I kept telling myself I'd keep her things neutral because pink is so overdone. I lied. I love the frills and flowers. I just wish we had more occasion for it! She's wearing an adorable Boden dress and tights next week for mine and my dads birthday party! Can't wait!

Re: NBR: Etsy addiction and girl clothes

  • I think most mom's with girls feel this way. I was totally not into the frilly things before I had her...then I started shopping. Ohhhh Emmmm Geeeee... After having a boy, girl stuff can make you go crazy! We went to Target and saw play-dress-up dresses and I told SO, "Can't you hardly wait for this stuff???"

Cloth diapers, for one, are fricken adorable with the frilly's and cute colors. Sunbaby has soooooooo many cute fabrics. And some really expensive rumperoos...but anyways, that sets it off for leggings. Because if you want to show off the fluffy butt, you need to keep her legs warm. So, you get those. Then you have to get a headband for special occasions. I don't put one on her daily, but holy moly, I wish there were more special occasions for more headbands.

I'm going crazy, and SO has yelled at me multiple times for trying to spend money for our daughter. Oops.

Oh my gosh, girl clothes are so freaking addicting!  The person with the worst addiction?  My mom.  She filled DD's closet with the most adorable clothes.  In the beginning I was a little bummed that I didn't have another girl to wear all of her amazing hand-me-downs (but I quickly got over that!).  I ended up giving bags and bags and bags of amazing clothes to friends so that I could see their DDs wear it all :)

I'm starting to get my groove when it comes to boy clothes- Baby Gap has some pretty cute stuff!!

Baby Gap and Children's place. I fell in love with their boy clothes. OH AND OSHKOSH BGOSH!!! Seriously...love their boy clothes.

Yes yes! I bought the most neutral stuff while I was pregnant, and she has a yellow room. When we brought her home from the hospital, I actually cried because she didn't have a pretty pink room (of course I was incredibly hormonal...)

  • I was hoping for a boy because I knew I'd go broke dressing up a girl. Of course, we had a girl and I too am going broke buying stuff for her that she grows out of in a week. Luckily she's the first grandchild on both sides so she's been spoiled with pretty dresses. I find that checking out sales racks and consignment stores has been a big money saver and less sad when she grows out of it since it only cost a few bucks anyways.

  • I got lucky, I have a friend with greqt taste who had a girl last October so I got all of her goodies. And someone I know is having a girl in January and I get to pass everything to her. She is dying for girl things. She has a 21yo daughter, 20yo son, 11yo son, 1yo son and is due for a girl. Oops.
