What do dads need to bring to the hospital?

I saw this question posted as a reply to another post (can't remember which) and I thought it was good. So, STMs and those who have just had your babies, what do the men need to bring to the hospital? I pretty much have myself and baby covered as far as hospital bag, but I really don't know what the hubs should bring.

Thanks!

  • Just a change of clothes in case things get messy from labor or he decides to spend the night along with deoderant and a toothbrush. That's it.

  • Snacks, flip flops to shower in, and a towel.

  • Toiletries and clothes. My DH went home to shower though.

  • Change of clothes. My H didn't shower the first time until we got home from the hospital (it is only 2 days after all) and this time he went home to shower.

A pillow would be good because the hospital ones stink and the litlte fold out chair bed he had was really hard.

  • I will be allowed to labor in the shower (and hot tub if the room has one), so we are packing him flip flops and a bathing suit. I also put a bunch of snacks in there in case we are there for awhile and I don't want him to leave to go to the vending machine. A change of clothes/pjs, and toiletries. That's about it.

  • DH stayed the whole time with me when DD1 was born, all he needed was something to wear in the shower(while he was helping me once I was allowed after the c-section), a toothbrush, & his cell phone with charger. We only live a few mins away from the hospital so he went home to change & shower otherwise I would also suggest a change of clothes, & whatever he would want to shower(maybe a better towel), also a pillow if he stays the night(hospital ones suck for the men too).

  • As of right now DH is planning on being at the hospital with my the whole time.  We live on the opposite end of town from the hospital, so if something is needed from the house his parents would likely pick it up for is.  We basically packed what we normally would for a weekend away.  Change of clothes, toiletries, swin trunks and flip flops (for the shower/whirlpool) and we kept the pillow in our car from baby classes.  We also packed an extra duffle bag inside his bag so we can take home everything the hospital gives us (diapers and such), if they are going to charge my insurance I am taking it with me.
