Maybe a silly ftm ???

So my 12 old does awesome with just being laid in his crib and putting himself to sleep. What I'm unsure of is since it takes him anywhere from 1545 mins to actually fall asleep when should I be laying him down?? Do I do an hour from when he got up I longer or shorter then that??

Oh and he just lays there and talks to himself or sucks his fists yes both at the same time even if he is nice and full lol. He is very content laying there I just am confused as to when to put him down since he takes him awhile sometimes

I'd say keep doing what you are doing. Since he isn't getting upset and is perfectly content maybe that is just his wind down time

Awesome thank you!! I just felt bad not spending the time with him but your probably right he needs it to wind down

My little guy does this too. He frequently just lays there quietly looking around and seems content. I also felt bad like I should be doing something to stimulate him, but I got over that pretty quickly. If he can occupy himself for a while and let me go do something else...bless his heart!! Plus everything is so new to him, he's probably enjoying it.

I think it's fine. If he's not unhappy then awesome! Enjoy the hands free time. Mine was like that, but is currently going through a "please hold me all the time" phase, so it's hard to find time to even go to the bathroom.
