Too similar?

I absolutely love both Roslyn and Rosalie but the reason I threw them out is because I felt our last name is too similar...it really bums me out so I wanna know what you think!

Our last name is similar to Robertson.

Roslyn Robertson?
Rosalie Robertson?

Too much?

Does your last name start with R and have the same number of syllables? If so, I don't mind the alliteration, but I think Roslyn and Robertson sound too similar to one another and Rosalie and Robertson is a mouth full of syllables when said together.

I personally wouldn't use either of them. I'd go with something shorter like Rose.

Roslyn definitely. Rosalie bothers me less though. They both sort of sound like newscaster names though. Robin Roberts.

I'm not a fan of alliterative names because they sound too comic book character-y to me so I would avoid them. I was thinking of switching to Rosalind instead, but I still think it is too close.

I agree with this.  The O's make different sounds (at least the way I pronounce it).  Long O in Rosalie and short O in Robertson make it not too matchy for me.

I think Roslyn Robertson is too much but Rosalie Robertson is really cute!!  I like the alliteration.

It is very similar... But if you really love the name I'd do it anyways. She will likely spend most of her life with a married name so it would be silly to throw out a beautiful name.

Alliteration doesn't at all bother me, so I'd say both names work with your LN in that regard. I think Rosalie flows much better though... Rosalie Robertson - adorable!
