Re: Any magic diaper rash tips?

  • Caking tripple paste on seems to work the best for us. When they were in the NICU my one daughter had a nasty rash and that what they recommended as well.

We do white vinegar solution and saturate with oil after it's air dry. Works the best for us

White vinegar also works for us and then we use an OTC Anti-Fungal cream once it's dried. If it seems painful or itchy combine it with cortizone cream and give your LO some tylenol or ibuprofen.  Oh and Wal-mart has both an antifungal cream and a cortizone cream that are an "off" brand for 88 cents! Can't beat that!

  • The Triple Paste has been a butt saver for our family.  My cousin was in diapers for 21 years and it's the only product that consistently worked to clear rashes for him.  It worked wonders when DD was in them, and now with DS it is fantastic!

  • Seems like I try something new every time DS gets a rash. I haven't tried this yet, but several of my friends have recommended mixing maximum strength Desitin, antifungal cream, and liquid Maalox.

Honestly, what works best for us is just making sure we put petroleum jelly on top of whatever treatment cream we use. That makes an effective barrier that both helps the treatment soak in and keeps urine and poop from further burning the skin.
