My OB actually ordered a binder for me, but I haven't put it on yet. I'm 11 days PP and my stomach looks pretty good (I'm in my pre-PG clothing already), so I don't think I need it.
I know people who wear it in the hospital and others who don't wear it until they get home.
Mommy to Barbara 11/8/05, Elisabeth 5/13/07, Loukas 12/23/08 and Lazarus 09/25/12
They gave me one while I was in the hospital. It really helped with getting out of bed. I used it for probably a week and a half and then I didn't need it anymore.

I wasn't able to wear mine until about 2 weeks PP because I ordered a belly bandit in a too-small size. I did like it and didn't find it uncomfortable.. it really helped me keep my posture, etc, but I wish I had been able to wear it sooner. I hope to save up some money this time around to buy the next size up and then transition down to my small size after a few weeks

If you're talking about the abdominal binder, I only wore my for about the first 2 and a half weeks after my c-section. That was mainly to help me get in and out of bed. After that I didn't wear it anymore.
I wore the binder they gave me in the hosiptal... it was a life saver and really helped me feel "put together" I only wore it for a day or two more when I got home because at that point it wasn't comfortable anymore. My Dr also told me to only wear it as much as I honestly thought I needed to, the longer you wear it the less your stomach muscles have to work on their own, therefore taking longer to get your core strength back.

I tried the Belly Bandit but I really didn't like it. I thought it was uncomfortable and only wore it for a couple hours.
