Two Under 2

If you own a city mini come in!

I'm so close to buying the double for everyday use and neighborhood walks daily. How do the wheels hold up? I'm nervous about them.

  • I bought the City Mini and returned it.  All those reviews about the basket being unusable are so stinkin' true!  I bought and returned 3 strollers before loving the City Select.  With it I can have a single or double trivially every time I get out of my van.  Often with DD being so close to 3 I don't need a double. When the next one arrives I will often need a double.  The side-by-side was a challenge in stores like Sears (our Sears is set up with crappy tight aisles) and small shops.

They have redesigned the lower bar on the City Mini but you still can't hardly get into the basket underneath.  That part of it sucks royally.

  • We got the mini GT. it is more expressive and heavier but has all terrain wheels. It is more of a rugged outdoor stroller where the regular city mini looks like an indoor stroller.

I love my city mini GT and my city select but with two toddlers I often go for the city mini GT over my select

  • I love my mini single, but when we needed a double I got the Elite (now discontinued) because I wanted the bigger tires with all-terrain capacity for the type of walks we do. The Elite is amazing and makes me love my mini slightly less. The GT is supposed to be nice, but the wheels are only 8.5 in compared to 8in on the regular mini
  • I think the wheels are holding up well so far- I've had it for a couple years now, but don't use it every day.  Currentlly have 3 - four and under.  I use it mostly on concrete.  My old single Combi had terrible tire wear, so I have seen a comparison. :)
  • I have the City Mini and I LOVE it! I think the tires have held up really well. I have used it over rocks, concrete sidewalks, and store floors. The tires aren't showing  much wear at all IMO. We use it a lot, at least every weekend for the past year.

As for the basket being unusable... I disagree. Yes from the back it is practically unusable. You can barely get a jacket in there, and definitely not a bag or anything. But if you access it from the sides, you can fit a ton more. I have fit coolers, diaper bags, jackets, shopping bags, hats. You can't beat those sunshades either. I have tried different strollers in the past year and nothing matches up to those sunshades!!
