Baby Monitor App?

Has anyone used an app as their baby monitor?  We are looking at a few apps like the iBaby, but I'm looking for some reviews first.  It's just so tempting to have an app so when I go back to work/travel/etc, I can still watch the babies remotely.  Any experience?

We have one, but if I could go back, I'd just buy a video monitor. The problem with the video app is that you either have to always have your phone on the app (which drains a lot of battery, and doesn't really allow you to use your phone), or you don't have instant access to the camera/audio. It's ok when I'm not sure if he's awake or fussy and I just need to check, but I wish I had a dedicated monitor so I wouldn't have to open up the app just to check on the baby from wherever I am. If he's actually crying, I want to know that asap, before he works himself up!

We set up a webcam (Foscam FI8910W) and Android has an app (IP Cam Viewer).  We can control the camera with the app--pan, tilt, move horizontally and vertically, etc.  It also has night vision.  I just did a quick search and it looks like the app is for iPhones too.  It works amazingly.

I checked out the IP Cam Viewer and think we will take both of your suggestions.  We'll probably get the Summer Infant video monitor for everyday use, but I think we'll also set up a cam using an app for when I go back to work (maybe 2 or 3 cams).  I really like the flexibility of being able to see/hear the twins when I won't be there.

We both have it on our phones but I use my iPad since its bigger and with the case thing I have it can stand up next to me.
